Topcem Cement and Guwahati scooter motorcycle garage owners association will organize Bishwakarma Idol Biswarjan Avijan

Guwahati, 19th September 2019:

Topcem Cement and Guwahati Scooter Motorcycle Garage Owners Association have been advocating the cause for a Clean Guwahati through the initiative – ‘BISWAKARMA IDOL-BISWARJAN AVIJAN’ every year and have achieved considerable success in generating awareness, which has led to greater involvement and increased participation from different establishments and organizations over the years. In the year 1997, this unique and praise-worthy initiative was conducted by Guwahati Scooter Motorcycle Garage Owners Association, while Topcem Cement was doing it independently since 2009. Both Topcem and GSMGOA have been jointly doing it since 2014.

Biswakarma Puja is one of the famous festivals in India that is dedicated to Lord Biswakarma, the Hindu God and a divine architect who created this universe. This festival is celebrated particularly in the industrial topography, techno-commercial establishments, in factories on the floor of the shop, or manufacturing head office. It is a common practice among the worshippers to leave the idols – previous and current years – on the roadside and street corners.

Announcing this year’s activity Dr. Anil Kapur, President, Sales & Marketing, Meghalaya Cements Limited said “We take pride in doing such an activity. Topcem cement has always worked towards improving the society through every possible means”.

Expressing his gratitude to Topcem Cement for their continuous support to the cause Mr. Gautam Pathak President, GSMGO, appreciated Topcem Cement for supporting their cause and helping in carrying out the activity in a smooth manner.

Topcem Cement and Guwahati Scooter Motorcycle Garage Owners Association will launch a drive on 20th September 2019, at 10 are, from Ulubari, near Old ASTC Garage Compound to pick–up and collect the idols of Lord Biswakarma disposed at various places and self-deposit by puja pandals who volunteered to support the campaign.

Guwahati Scooter Motorcycle Garage Owners Association and Topcem Cement while extending Puja greetings has requested all concerned to extend their support to this campaign. In the previous years, vehicles (trucks) with manpower will move around the localities to facilitate the pick-up and collection of the idols and disposing of those in the areas designated by GMC. It also stressed making the puja eco–friendly by avoiding the usage of plastics during puja and conserving power by avoiding misuse of electricity and loudspeakers.
