Bihu – a part of social activity of Topcem Cement

Since 2012, Topcem has undertaken a variety of social initiatives to foster joy and happiness in society. The celebration of Rongali Bihu is one of the most significant among them. Rongali Bihu marks the advent of the harvesting season and is also regarded as the first day of the Assamese New Year. To spread the festive spirit, office furniture, computers and other essential supplies are distributed among voluntary organizations that take care of the elderly, disabled and the underprivileged. The contribution of Topcem Cement in the last 10 years has helped various organizations from different fields such as geriatrics, children’s homes, etc. Initially, organizations like Assam Autism Foundation, Ashadeep Children Home and Seneh Home for the elderly were extended support as part of the Bihu festivities. Many new institutions were added over the years. The year 2022, saw the inclusion of two new children’s homes – Kalyani Home for Girls and Open Shelter for Boys. Topcem Cement remains committed to this cause for years to come.
